As its release draws nearer, anticipation for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare increases rapidly.

Ok, maybe that opening sentence was overdramatic – especially as annual release of Call of Duty games can become as mundane as getting out of bed on Monday morning and heading straight for the bathroom to perform your Donald the Duck impression.

No surprise here; Modern Warfare III, the remake of 2011 classic Call of Duty will soon be here this year. However, fans remain excited at its unveiling; nonetheless there may be concerns regarding this game release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III began as an expansion to MWII (2022), yet over time has evolved into its own standalone title.

Fans are particularly concerned that its original intended role has transformed it into its current standalone state; further, many worry that regardless of its reported origins, Modern Warfare III (MWIII) may demand full RRP price tag despite these origins. It should be noted, though, that Modern Warfare III stands out by carrying over most DLC and progression data from MWII (2022), making this year’s game notable as well as seeing its return with Zombies mode feature!

Of note is some good news from CharlieIntel on Twitter for Modern Warfare 3 players; according to them all the multiplayer maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) will be remastered for it and will return as updated content in Modern Warfare III remastering updates! While we must take their word as gospel when discussing such information. Favela fans, get your shotguns and shields ready as its time to create some mayhem!

Reports indicate that Modern Warfare III will feature updated maps from Modern Warfare II as well as those found in its predecessor game:

  • Afghan
  • Derail
  • Estate
  • Favela
  • Highrise
  • Invasion
  • Karachi
  • Quarry
  • Rundown
  • Rust
  • Scrapyard
  • Skidrow
  • Sub Base
  • Terminal
  • Underpass
  • Wasteland

Starfield’s latest story teaser has left its followers worried for Earth. https://thegamerhq.com/2023/08/16/starfields-latest-story-teaser-has-left-its-followers-worried-for-earth/ https://thegamerhq.com/2023/08/16/starfields-latest-story-teaser-has-left-its-followers-worried-for-earth/#respond Wed, 16 Aug 2023 11:05:40 +0000 https://thegamerhq.com/?p=72310 Starfield’s latest story teaser has left its followers worried for Earth.

Bethesda released an alarming story teaser regarding Earth, making future players of Starfield anxious about its state.

Bethesda’s space epic Starfield will finally arrive to us all on 6 September and it is sure to keep us busy with its 1,000 planets and “astonishing” side quests. Todd Howard estimates its main campaign as taking around 30-40 hours according to him; so while Starfield might appear daunting at first, completionist style playthrough may make up most of its certification issues. We don’t yet know whether Starfield has hit gold status but one dev has assured fans not to worry. Bethesda have released another story teaser which may make us anxious due to another unexpected reason!

Bethesda recently updated its official Starfield website with a “The Story So Far” section that details key events from 2050 through 2328 in Starfield timeline. If you want a comprehensive view, visit Bethesda website but I will give some highlights here: In 2050 humans first arrived on Mars with space colonies beginning around 2100.

In 2159, The United Colonies is established, shortly thereafter New Atlantis follows suit with its founding two years later in 2160. Akilia City then followed in 2167 before The Freestar Collective formed in 2188; later that same year saw The Narion War break out due to an issue regarding Clinic Station placement within Narion star system between United Colonies and Freestar Collective factions.

Treaties were first signed between nations in 2216. Constellation then formed its name-tag entity in 2275. Freestar broke away from Narion by setting up new colonies without breaking its Treaty, leading to Colony Wars that ultimately came to an end by 2311. By 2328 Constellation began investing into “The Eye”, thus setting in motion what we know today as events unfold.

As you may have noted, Earth does not feature in this timeline at all. Humans left their planet for various reasons — perhaps uninhabitability; perhaps conquest; could they return? Our current theory holds that its inclusion could prove too spoilery; thus its removal. As soon as this game arrives three weeks from now we should know more.

Since Rockstar Games announced in February 2022 that GTA VI development had begun, official information regarding it has remained scarce and fans must make do with rumor and speculation as regards to GTA 6.

Rumor has it that Grand Theft Auto VI will feature two playable protagonists named Jason and Lucia based off Bonnie and Clyde from crime duo Bonnie & Clyde; also, that Miami-inspired Vice City will make another return appearance; we even had early gameplay leaks taken from an early build of GTA VI itself!

Since Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI nearly one year ago, fans will likely be eagerly awaiting official details such as release date and gameplay to arrive soon. In an investor call this past July, Take-Two Interactive suggested GTA VI could launch by March 2025.

Based on recent rumor reports for Grand Theft Auto VI, its massive map could feature various expansions as well as remain constantly developing over time.

“GTA VI will feature an ever-evolving map as Rockstar plans to update it throughout, adding cities over time–Vice City will remain its focal point,” reported GTAVInewz.

Tweeters shared an image allegedly showing Vice City and various locations such as Los Santos, Liberty City, Redwood County and Carcer City (home to Manhunt).

Note that this image could just be a mock-up and doesn’t represent what GTA VI will actually look like when released, although if real then its future-setting could relate either to single player campaign playback or perhaps new versions of GTA Online; only time will tell.

Grand Theft Auto VI will likely release for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will now gain access to 17 new free games this August. https://thegamerhq.com/2023/08/10/playstation-plus-subscribers-will-now-gain-access-to-17-new-free-games-this-august/ https://thegamerhq.com/2023/08/10/playstation-plus-subscribers-will-now-gain-access-to-17-new-free-games-this-august/#respond Thu, 10 Aug 2023 08:02:03 +0000 https://thegamerhq.com/?p=72042 PlayStation Plus subscribers will now gain access to 17 new free games this August.

PlayStation Plus recently unveiled seventeen brand new free titles for August 2023 – some classic PlayStation titles!

Not too long ago, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers weren’t very enthusiastic about receiving free games; but this latest set for Extra and Premium members represents an improvement over prior offerings.

Befor we get started, let me briefly review what subscribers to the Essential tier can currently access: PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams and Death’s Door are among those available as currently. That lineup strikes me as quite sufficient; especially Death’s Door which truly deserves more play time in my view – however you cannot please everyone with such limited choices available to them.

August’s Extra and Premium games should go down smoothly for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Starting August 15, they’ll have access to Moving Out 2, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Lost Judgment, Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed Two Point Hospital Jumbo Edition Source Of Madness Cursed To Golf Dreams Dreams PJ Masks Heroes Of The Night Hotel Transylvania Scary-Tale Adventures Lawn Mowing Simulator Landmark Edition Spellforce III Reforced and Midnight Fight Express for PS Plus subscribers enrolled with PSN Extra subscription plans.

Extra subscribers will also have an early opportunity to download and play Sea Of Stars when it releases on 29 August; don’t miss out – this retro-inspired RPG could become one of 2023’s must-play titles!

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will find themselves treated to some amazing classic titles this month: MediEvil: Resurrection, Ape Escape: On The Loose and Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice are just three such examples that I must applaud as they make for an impressive lineup of titles!

Many RPG fans are eagerly awaiting Starfield’s September release date; however, Baldur’s Gate 3 has also garnered much interest among players prior to its full launch.

Offering exciting quests and battles, PC players have already started planning out builds they’ll use during their initial playthroughs of this title.

Over the last week or two, Larian has been leading players through the complex process involved with setting up Baldur’s Gate’s full release version. Now that its arrival looms closer than ever before, some Baldur’s Gate veterans have shared their fondest memories from its early access period.

On r/BaldursGate3, user serpentear began this period of fond recall by writing an post entitled: “To my early access homies.” They went on to state: “Our contributions left their mark and your feedback helped shape this game into what will come tomorrow. Thank you all so much!”

“We have seen it all!” they exclaimed, listing off memorable bugs and events like companions attempting to scale invisible ladders and Halsin becoming such a fan favorite that his developers offered him as one of several available companions.

Serpentear ended his post by asserting: “It has been my great privilege to experience all this with all of you, we will always have early access together and tomorrow we start playing for real!”

Naturally, many early access veterans have since shared memories from this period in responses to the post.

“Over three years, my attitude changed from thinking Larian is incapable of recreating Dungeons & Dragons to believing this RPG experience will become one of, if not, the greatest RPGs from recent memory.” so wrote User thedrizztman who began playing Day 1.

GraveKeeperClaire noted the incredible irony of early access gameplay versus returning later: how people did not like Shadowheart initially but now she has become such a beloved hero!

ShungieShrieks put up another post paying their respects to those who were anticipating the game’s full release but unfortunately weren’t around to see it; one person they specifically mentioned as an example was their late brother.

Players in the comments have paid beautiful and heartfelt tribute to people from their lives – truly an emotional display!

No matter where your attention has been focused today as we wait to begin playing Baldur’s Gate 3, make sure to follow us for plenty of guides regarding its mechanics and characters!

Are You Wanting To Play Starfield Without Spending $70? Your options are abundantly clear here, my friend.

If you want Bethesda’s open-world space RPG Starfield at an incredible value, one option may be Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. By taking this route you can enjoy playing Starfield for as long as your subscription lasts; even if only planning on playing for one month you are paying only a fraction of its retail cost!

However, everyone knows Starfield will be an epic experience; perhaps more than one month is desired? Well, good news – Starfield has already been heavily discounted here in the UK!

Hit is currently offering Starfield on Xbox Series X/S for PS52.95 – saving over 20% over its retail value and making this deal one of the cheapest ways I have seen of getting it outside renting through Game Pass.

Starfield will launch worldwide on 6 September, but you can jump the queue if you pre-ordered and are eligible for early access on 1 September! Five extra days to explore space! Plus there’s even an easier way allowing players to experience Starfield before then; simply use this trick on 31 August!

However, as we await Starfield with anticipation, why not take a moment and appreciate all of its incredible features already confirmed for it. Bethesda recently teased an “astonishing” number of side quests; additionally there will be over 1,000 planets to explore with multiple factions and branching paths and an awesome space samurai class!

Absolutely, we plan on playing this game for quite a long time.

Experienced gamers understand what it’s like to finish an absolutely great and life-altering videogame and feel lost afterward – not knowing where or when they should move next, feeling lost when moving onto something different is something which leaves us empty-headed and hollow inside.

At first, after finishing Xenoblade Chronicles for the first time it took two weeks before my mind could shift from its conclusion and I started moving onto something else. Even though Xenoblade Chronicles remains my favourite game ever (in my humble opinion!), its ending left an impactful mark that required time and reflection for resolution – yet many fans of The Witcher 3 may still have trouble moving past Geralt’s most recent adventure even now despite it all! That being said, I understand the feeling.

Reddit user mayhem_1979 lamented, “Witcher 3 has completely taken away from all other games.” She dived deeply into Cyberpunk, Kingdom Come, Elden Ring and all Assassin’s Creed titles — only returning back to Geralt after roughly seven-eight complete playthroughs of each.

Others seem to agree: It’s an absolute masterpiece and no other game can compare with how I felt the first time I experienced Witcher 3. Five full playthroughs won’t change that feeling…other games such as Fallout 4, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk Hogwarts [Legacy], are great but none matched it,” motiongfx515 stated, while Public-Friend 9 agreed: I always compare anything else I play to Witcher 3, yet still can’t find an equal.

Now there is no pressure for the next Witcher game!

PlayStation Plus subscribers are finally being exposed to one of the most underrated video games of 2021 – I for one am very thankful.

As any subscriber to PlayStation Plus can tell you, there’s an enormous selection of titles on offer – especially on Extra and Premium Tiers where hundreds of free titles await – which may make finding what you want daunting at first. Here’s some help on where to begin your PlayStation Plus explorations:

Thanks to users on PlayStation Plus subreddit, I recently discovered an absolutely captivating game – one I had long tried convincing others of its merits – which has finally become accessible thanks to PlayStation Plus membership. You have no excuse not to give this incredible title a chance now that it is free for everyone!

Chicory: A Colorful Tale was released back in 2021 by Greg Lobanov and provides an exquisite top-down adventure game, boasting many Zelda influences as well as its own creative ideas.

Chicory stands apart from similar games by taking its inspiration solely from Nintendo’s series; you play as an innocent pup equipped with nothing more than an ordinary magic brush in search of hue. Chicory takes this concept one step further by forcing its protagonist into exploring an otherwise monochrome world in order to restore color back into it.

Chicory puts emphasis on painting as its signature mechanic, using paint brushes to interact with environments, paint certain patterns to progress forward and stave off enemies during tricky boss encounters. Each screen of Chicory serves as its own colouring book page which you are free to fill however you wish!

Chicory received my rating of 9/10 when reviewed earlier, although any case made for its merit as a 10/10 game will certainly not go unheeded.

Reddit user Schweizsvensk finds Chicory fascinating as an overall package, especially given their limited free time as an overworked family man working full time – it provides me with another form of relaxation after a busy day.” Chicory provides soothing music which drives stress away after work days are complete and provides another form of self-care to reduce tension after each stressful encounter with life’s obstacles.

Chicory truly deserves more playback; I can vouch for that myself and implore you to play Chicory for yourself; you won’t regret your experience of Chicory this year – trust me on that count.

Gears of War 3 OG just received online matchmaking. https://thegamerhq.com/2023/07/25/gears-of-war-3-og-just-received-online-matchmaking/ https://thegamerhq.com/2023/07/25/gears-of-war-3-og-just-received-online-matchmaking/#respond Tue, 25 Jul 2023 16:05:18 +0000 https://thegamerhq.com/?p=71172 Gears of War 3 OG just received online matchmaking.

Gears of War is one of Microsoft’s flagship franchises, even though it may feel like the series has been neglected over recent years.

The original Gears of War for Xbox 360 was released in 2006. It not only became a Microsoft exclusive to compete with Halo but also became a reason for many gamers to purchase the console.

Gears of War could be a major influence on future third-person shooters that use cover.

Gears of War was originally developed by Epic Games. Two sequels followed, along with a spinoff Gears of War Judgement, which People Can Fly co-developed before The Coalition took over.

The original trilogy had the brotherhood duo Marcus Pheonix & Dominic Santiago leading the fight for humanity against the alien menace known as Locust. Gears of War is one of the best Xbox experiences, whether you play alone or in co-op.

Gears of War’s competitive multiplayer is another fun feature of the trilogy. It has, however, been neglected in recent years due to the focus of the series on more recent games.

Gameinfinitus.com reported that the online matchmaking for the Gears of War original trilogy was improved. This means players will be able find more matches, whether they are competitive or in the Horde mode.

A job posting has suggested that a brand new game may be coming soon. Microsoft is expected to announce the next entry in this series within the next few months.

Tenchu: Stealth Assassins needs to return, gamers demand it! https://thegamerhq.com/2023/07/18/tenchu-stealth-assassins-needs-to-return-gamers-demand-it/ https://thegamerhq.com/2023/07/18/tenchu-stealth-assassins-needs-to-return-gamers-demand-it/#respond Tue, 18 Jul 2023 15:09:25 +0000 https://thegamerhq.com/?p=70767 Tenchu: Stealth Assassins needs to return, gamers demand it!

Gamers have begun listing titles they would like to see revived, such as Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.

Tenchu: Stealth Assassins was developed and released for PlayStation 1 by Acquire in 1998 as an action stealth game, challenging players to maneuver through 11 levels without incurring disturbance from other characters or any obstacles. Due to its success and nine sequels being produced overall – although most new releases were only made available within Japan.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins was released as its last installment back in 2008 and since then the series has become dormant.

FromSoftware, known for creating souls-like games such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring, initially planned on developing a sequel to Tenchu; however, during development they changed course and decided instead to develop Sekiro: Shadow’s Die Twice instead.

Fans of Tenchu games still remain hopeful for revival following Xbox’s acquisition of Activision (publishers of several Tenchu titles). Reddit user Nollieee shared an IP revival thread entitled, ‘My Pick for an IP Revival”, prompting several comments indicating their interest.

“Activision! Of course this would be amazing!”

“Don’t Take My Money! Just listening to its soundtrack on You Tube… What an iconic game. Bushido Blade and this were my personal favourites!”

However, many don’t hold out hope of it happening anytime soon, since Sekiro already fills this niche for stealth-oriented action titles.

“Sekiro. The Best Tenchu Game Ever Played

“That would be wonderful! Sekiro and Nioh 2 can serve as great substitutes until Tenchu games arrive on PC!”

“Sadly we will not see any IP revivals. While ABK may enjoy similar independence to Bethesda… even with direct oversight by Microsoft Obsidian has failed to bring back Alpha Protocol.”

Though its future appears dim, there remains hope for Tenchu. Xbox are currently searching for IPs they can make console exclusives of, so with the right developer – remake or revival could become viable solutions.
